Making Media Now

This year’s Making Media Now was held on Friday, May 6th at Bentley University. The theme for the conference was “Re-defining Collaboration in a Fractured Media World.”

Lessons Learned By the Pros

It was standing room only at the LEF/DocYard sponsored panel “When Does A Story Become a Film?: From Idea to Documentary” at IFFB on Sunday.

The Nieman Storyboard

I’ve been reading some wonderful content on the Nieman Storyboard, a great resource from the Nieman Foundation

People Who Need People

In an attempt to end my own laments at the long, thoughtful and studied blog entry on women in the documentary field in New England that I lost to the four corners, I instead make this appeal to everyone to step away from the computer and go meet someone in person.

Incubating and Hatching!

Every once in awhile I like to write about one of our colleagues in the
world of funding, as so many of them are doing inspirational work
worthy of spotlights and cheering. With their next Open Call deadline
coming up on Wednesday, March 30th, Chicken & Egg Pictures is on my
mind today.

MARCH SCREENINGS

A diverse group of screenings, from LEF grantees and other filmmakers of interest, to help get from the current lion-like part of March to the lamb-like part at the other end:<br />

Salem Film Fest 2011

The Salem Film Fest, not to be confused with the Salem (Oregon) Film Festival, is happening soon – March 4 – March 10) in Salem MA.
