LEF is accepting applications for pre-production funding until Friday, 17 September at 5pm (that’s an in-house deadline, not a postmark one), so here’s an almost-the-end-of-August reminder about our application process.
Even if you’re not a first-time applicant, definitely read our guidelines before applying; as with all Moving Image Fund awards, only applicants residing in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Vermont are eligible. It might also be useful to check out LEF’s Past Awards to get an idea of the films that LEF has funded before. The FAQ section of our website is a good resource, and don’t hesitate to contact us with more questions.
Make sure to have a fiscal sponsor in place before you apply; the process of getting sponsorship might take at least a couple of weeks, so it’s best to start now if your project doesn’t already have a sponsor. Any tax-exempt, 501c3 organization can be your fiscal sponsor (it doesn’t have to be in New England), but some New England organizations with supportive sponsorship programs include the Center for Independent Documentary, Documentary Educational Resources and Filmmakers Collaborative
We look forward to receiving your proposals!
