OCTOBER

Hopefully soon we’ll have some updates from the Camden International Film Festival (happening now!) and IFP week, but like so many falling autumn leaves, there are lots of October events to keep track of:

  • Boston Palestine Film Festival (http://www.bostonpalestinefilmfest.org/) from October 1 – 10 at the Museum of Fine arts and the Harvard Film Archive.
  • The Docyard returns on MONDAY, October 11 at 8pm with ArtsEngine’s Media that Matters, screening a great-looking program of short documentaries
  • The New Hampshire Film Festival (http://www.nhfilmfestival.com/), is taking place in Portsmouth, NH from October 14-17. The lineup includes LEF-funded War Don Don, Family Affair, and Orgasm Inc., as well as David Binder’s Calling My Children.
  • October 17-25: “The Epic and the Everyday” The Films of Wang Bing at the Harvard Film Archive, with the filmmaker in person on Sunday and Monday. I look forward to seeing more from the filmmaker of the amazing West of the Tracks: a film that you can describe as “8 hours long!” and not sound horrified.
  • The Boston Jewish Film Festival (www.bjff.org), which has screenings in the Boston area year-round, has its main festival event from October 26 – November 11.
